We now have a perpetual unlimited user license for SmartFoxServer!

It's hard to believe that this license was purchased way back in 2018 for Antaria Online and now it will continue on being used for Fantasy Online 2. I didn't see that one coming.

What's even crazier is that this license was a conversion from SmarfoxServer Pro to SmartFoxServer 2X. The Pro license came from Fantasy Online. I'm pretty sure the original FO license was purchased in 2011 after a growth spurt on Kongregate. Speaking of Kong...

I've told my Kongregate contact that we will be launching on Kong in June/July 2024.

Kongregate FO2 accounts will be slightly different in a few ways.

  • First, Kong players will have only one character so they won't get the benefits of shared collection, shared mail, etc.

  • Second, Kong players will get access to new zones 2+ months after they release on the main site and they will not have access to pre-release zones.

  • Third, Gems will be more expensive for Kongregate FO2 accounts as Kong takes a much larger cut than Patreon.

I'm still deciding whether or not the Collector and Bank will cost Gems to unlock on Kong. There are likely to be more differences between accounts as we get closer to launch there but for now these are the big ones. I'm actually not sure how popular Kongregate is anymore but it seemed like the right place to launch and test f2p accounts.

Dino has outdone himself again! This is the new Cave of Despair with animated lava! I'll be opening it up to walk around in the near future. We'll also get started on mobs and drops soon.

Vercel just added this AI tab to their dashboard very recently. I went exploring and found something I might end up using for FO2.

Here's the two first npc quest dialog texts in the game:
"The secret behind your natural state will be revealed upon the slaughter of the fifth crab. A mysterious predicament, indeed."

"Check your BACKPACK. You should have a stick and a shirt. Let's see about getting the rest of your clothes back, shall we? I'd imagine that killing 5 crabs should set you on the right path. We don't take kindly to nudists here!"

Now with that in mind play the two mp3's attached to this post. They were generated by https://elevenlabs.io/app/speech-synthesis in less than a second.

I selected one of many stock voices and clicked generate. That's it. This is wild.

I then added ElevenLabs to the game client project on Vercel and it spit out some example code for how to use it with Node.js. I could literally feed it all the quest text, save the generated files to the server, and then play them in the game when needed. The only difficult part would be choosing the voice. And yes of course it can translate into any language as well. Game voice actors are done in the near future. This is the end of that job. Wild.

The past two weeks Perseus has been busy adding in all the mobs and drops for Mirabella Cove. There's one more infamous mob coming but I need to fix a small bug first.

I've been hard at work creating our public API, the guild window v1, fixing guild command bugs, and fixing general bugs.

In the next two weeks I'll be working on adding all the quests to Mirabella Cove, bank tabs, and fixing bugs among other things.

Oh btw, there's a bank in MC now.
