Whoa it looks like Armor Games just resurrected a ton of Flash games.

Is the HTML5 gaming revolution finally here? I guess I need to put FO2 on Armor Games as well as it seems to be quite active. With that in mind I think it's time I rewrote the website as the original's code is quite a mess. I was just learning React and Typescript for the first time so don't judge me!

NextJS is Vercel's own framework so I decided to go with it as it's quite nice to use.

I spent a good amount of time porting the existing website's code over to a new NextJS project specifically for integrating FO2 with Kongregate. That was a good first NextJS learning experience that allowed me to port most of the main website's code and to learn the basics of the framework.

I then decided to take that Kongregate NextJS project and use that to rewrite the main FO2 website. I created a really nice generic project that can now be used for things like Steam, Armor Games, and whatever other platforms FO2 makes it way to.

I spent some time designing the website portion of the game to work on any screen.

And to also work on any screen in any orientation. The website part of the game is very versatile now!

That's a lot of hair.

I also turned on iPad support. If you have an iPad please try it out and report any bugs to #bugs on Discord!

I signed up for Steam distribution!

But they need to verify I'm real.

I also fixed a lot of bugs related to position syncing and visibility at different z positions. You shouldn't see people below or above you anymore.

You can now connect your FO2 account to Patreon and create characters without a subscription but...

If you hit play without a Gamer tier or above Patreon subscription the game will not let you in! I need to put a link to Patreon here. On the todo list.

I also now alert users to specific account linking errors. This was a big support problem for a lot of new players. Another issue I still have to deal with is people whose payments are in the pending state. I need to make that clear on the website. Ok, put that on the todo list too.

Perseus has been hard at work on content for the game which will be rolling out this week.

What could these be?

In the upcoming week I'll be finishing the Winter Battle Pass and I'll be making it finishable and restartable. I'll also be turning on Stamina T1 crafting.

See you next patch notes!

Have Fun & Keep Gaming!
